Slogan Analysis

I searched what slogans should be a got these results, this means that I must find one that will follow these five points.

  1. Identification. A good slogan must stay consistent with the brand name either obviously stated or strongly implied. It’s better to include the name of your business to it.
  2. Memorable. Some of the best taglines or slogans are still being used today, even though they were launched several years ago.
  3. Beneficial. Reveal your purpose and benefits of the product by conveying the message in consumer language. Turn bad into good. Suggest the risk of not using the product. Create a positive feeling for the consumers.
  4. Differentiation. In an overcrowded market, companies on the same industry need to set themselves apart thru their creative and original tagline or slogan.
  5. Keep it simple. Use proven words and short keywords. One word is usually not enough.

My first thoughts are:

Your music ,our life.
Beyond the best
Back to the peak of success.

Analysis

For my analysis I decided to look at Mojo,Q and Uncut which all focuses around my genre of classic pop.

 Cover analysis

Real Magazine Base

This is the type of front cover I would really like to complete.

Masthead font

I picked five different fonts to use on my mast head and created mocks of what they would look like as well as putting the name of the font next to it. After asking other students the font 'code' got the most ticks which means I am now going to use this as my focus when creating mock ups. If it is not working I have the other option of 'Quartzo' which will take my magazine in a different direction.

Title Mock Up Idea

This is not a final idea but is a base of what I am thinking for my masthead.

Analysis

I have chosen to analyse the music magazines 'Q' , Uncut and Mojo as they all focus on music similar to mine, I decided to analyse the parts of the magazines I know that I’m going to use for example what the colours mean and different lay out to help me build my magazine into one that fits in with the others.
